Biography
Professor Nikolaidis is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete. His areas of expertise include watershed scale studies, heavy metal site assessment and remediation and sustainable development. He uses a "holistic" approach in solving environmental problems by conducting field studies, laboratory experimentation and mathematical modeling. Dr. Nikolaidis is involved in several European (FP5-EUROCAT, tempQsim; Marie-Curie RTN-AQUATRAIN; FP6-SoilCritZone; LIFE-EnviFriendly; and FP7-MIRAGE) and Greek funded watershed studies. He holds the patent of the AsRT technology for removing arsenic from groundwater and has published over 80 papers in international journals and books.
